They told me from the beginning the working hours and my duties. As they have a very busy schedule I hardly ever met them in person, but regardless, whenever I needed something they would reply within minutes. Personally I learnt not only how to do this job but also about myself, now I'm more relaxed, patient and tolerant, I met a lot of people from different countries, cultures and personalities who helped me to rearrange my way of thinking and acting. The truth is they're always busy and I understand why sometimes they don't explain everything however they are always aware of your questions.

I felt very comfortable here, at the beginning I was a little stressed because I didn't know how to use the software for reservations but during the days I learned how to use it, so it's all about practicing and being proactive. Your tasks are simple: reception, interact with guests and offer tours (set breakfast and change beds only in the morning shift). I was here during high and low season, obviously when it's high season you'll have more things to do but personally I don't think it's that much, since the hostel is for 20 guests. It is important to consider that you're in a volunteering and not on vacation, you'll be here to help. Personalmente aprendí no solo cómo hacer este trabajo, también aprendí sobre mí misma, ahora soy mucho más relajada, paciente y tolerante conocí muchas personas de diferentes países, culturas y personalidades, lo cual enriqueció considerablemente mi manera de pensar y actuar. Nunca te van a dejar con la duda/problema sin resolver.
La verdad es que ellas siempre están ocupadas y entiendo por qué a veces no llegan a explicar todo pero a pesar de eso siempre están al pendiente de tus dudas, entonces no me puedo quejar, solo es cuestión de preguntar y ellas estarán ahí para resolverlo. Yo me sentí muy cómoda estando ahí, al inicio me pareció un poco estresante porque no había hecho recepción en un hostal y no sabía utilizar el sistema pero conforme pasaron los días todo mejoró bastante, es cuestión de practicar y ser proactivo.
Es sencillo: atender recepción, interactuar con huéspedes y ofrecer tours (poner desayuno y cambiar camas solo en el turno de la mañana). Estuve durante … read more periodos de temporada baja y alta, obviamente cuando la temporada es alta vas a tener más trabajo por hacer pero personalmente no me pareció demasiado, ya que el hostal de la playa tiene capacidad para máximo 20 personas. Es importante tener en cuenta que es un voluntariado y no estás de vacaciones, vas a ayudar. Ana y Tania siempre están al pendiente de lo que llegues a necesitar, el trabajo no es pesado pero si estás acostumbrado a no hacer nada puede que te parezca pesado. Para comenzar, planeaba quedarme un mes y terminé quedandome tres.
